Ney Studio takes its name from the ney, the traditional Persian reed flute, and from its place in Persian literature. The ney carries a story of separation, memory, and the desire to return to one’s source. That idea shapes the studio’s approach: every project begins by uncovering the essential story beneath the information.

Founded in 2026 by Iranian artist and engineer Ali Motamedi, Ney Studio draws on more than a decade of experience across engineering, visualization, and interdisciplinary creative practice. Ali’s experience of migration and searching for a sense of home also informs the studio’s sensitivity to place, identity, and belonging.
